Withnail & I - Ralph Steadman

Ralph Steadman - the accomplished illustrator and writer - was responsible for the film's main artwork:



Ralph Steadman was also responsible for many of the fantastic publicity photos that are available on the Region 2 Withnail DVD.



Well known for his political and social caricatures and cartoons, Steadman is famous for his partnership with the American journalist Hunter S. Thompson - the author who wrote The Rum Diary - the book that Withnail and I Director Bruce Robinson is currently being turned into a film.

Much of Steadman's artwork revolves around caricatures of Thompson: fishing hats, cigarette holder and aviator shades.

Steadman is also known in the UK for his illustrations used in the catalogue of off-license chain Oddbins.
